Statement
My principle interests, when making sculpture, lie in the concept of time and our relationship with it. Alongside this sits a deep concern for the frailty of our environment and society’s apparent inability to recognise and value beauty in any meaningful way. A system based on growth will always put people and nature second. For me, the only reason to make art is to communicate and try to help people see things in a different way so, therefore, I would want my work to encourage people to see that there is another way that humans can live together that does not require habitat destruction, warfare, starvation and species decline; they just need to see that this system is failing and destined to self destruct very soon.
