Helen Malia has worked as an artist and arts educator since 1996. She is currently working for the Creative Lead Schools in Wales as a Creative Practitioner and Creative Agent.
Helen has had solo exhibitions at Atelje Stundars, Stundars Museum and Gallery Finland and also at Cynon Valley Museum and Gallery, Wales. She was selected for the international show ‘Breathing Grounds’ at Coed Hills Rural Artspace and has had regular commissions for the ‘Made in Roath’ Festivals in Cardiff.
Statement
I am an environmental artist who uses natural, organic or recycled materials to create site specific outdoor artworks. I also create digital images that depict potential environmental threats. These images are incorporated into interventions in the landscape. My work has been shown in the natural environment and galleries in the UK and abroad.
